As we all know (I hope) that Mother’s day is just around the block and it’s one of those days when we shouldn’t shy away from doing something amazing for our mothers. Not that we shouldn’t appreciate them every other day of the year, but everyone should take out some time from their busy lives to go and do something for their mothers to show them how much they love and appreciate their mothers. Mother’s aren’t complicated, they usually get happy with just about anything special that you do for them! So why not grab a couple of flowers, maybe a card to write down some nice comments to make their day? ( to do the least) but if you have money then maybe go and buy some nice piece of jewelry? Every jewelry store out there has some sort of sale going on for mother day sale so make sure you take advantage of that and go take a look to see if there is something nice you can afford and make your mom’s mother’s day amazing!
Or even better, why not go and get her a small storage place, where she can put all her extra stuff from the house and make room for some more nicer things that she wants? I bet she hasn’t thought about getting a storage unit and I’m pretty sure everyone appreciates some extra space to keep their extra stuff! New York Moms are on the move, from taking kids to soccer practice to cleaning the house, Long Island mom’s are one of the selective group that believe it or  not could use self storage units.

Many families live in small house, or apartments  in order to save money. However, when downsizing, mothers tend to want to keep everything due to the relationship they have with a special item. The solutions is either, throwing it away, selling it, or storing it.

In the last 5 months, A Space Place Storage conducted  a survey of our tenants who are moms, and asked them the real reason why they chose a self storage units. 20 % of the mother confessed that their husband do  not let them keep things in the house. Therefore, renting a small 5×5 storage unit is plenty enough room for the smaller things in life. 40 % of the mother questioned said that they are storing their oldest kids stuff. This mean college students who are off to college or have moved out out of their parents house, therefore, mother do not want to throw away their oldest child books, trophies and other memorable things.

The remaining 40 perfect were hardworking moms who have their own business. This tend to be either Avon Subscribers, or door to door seller of cosmetics, and electronics.

Long Island Mothers are the hiding storage groups that starting to become a trend. We asked the mother that storage at our Commercial Self Storage Office, that if it was not for self storage, would have they thrown away the stuff?  More than half the mother said that they would have either find a place where to store, perhaps a small section of their home. The other half, explain that they would have sadly thrown away the stuff or either give it to some else. There was however a small percentage that said they would have done a garage sale to get rid of the things.
