Everyone’s been following the recent news about the Casey Anthony / Florida child murder case over the last few days. Well although Casey Anthony was found not guilty of the charges against for murdering her daughter, she was held accountable for four cases of lying to the police (misdemeanor chargers). She was sentenced to the maximum time in prison for each case of lying, which is one year; totaling 4 years in jail. Besides being sentenced to 4 years in prison, she was also fined $1,000 for each count.
Now it’s being said that Casey Anthony is to be is to be released from jail early on July 13 for already spending 1,043 days in prison throughout her whole trial case; and for being on good behavior. The days she already spent in jail are being credited towards her sentencing.
Many people are stunned and angered at the way this case turned out by the verdict given on last Tuesday. The prosecutors plans were to seek the death penalty had Casey Anthony been convicted as guilty. Many of the jurors themselves have spoken out since Tuesday, stating that they felt there wasn’t enough evidence for a murder conviction but they felt sick and were in tears from there decision.
