5 Winter Car Storage Tips – Part 1

It’s that time of year again. The winter is almost here and you don’t want to see your car sitting in your driveway as the heavy snow comes down. If you plan on getting storage for your car, make sure you follow these important tips. It is possible to do more damage if you don’t store your car properly, so here are a couple ways to prevent anything from happening to your car:

1) Give your car a good cleaning:
Anything that can attract unwanted visitors (i.e. bugs), should be cleaned up. Any old spills, scraps, food, should be removed. This may require a detail, but will be well worth it in the end. As it gets colder, bugs and animals are looking for something to eat, and somewhere to be warm. Cars can be a prime location. Any measures needed to prevent them from damaging your car should be considered.

2) Service your car:
It’s a good idea to have your car serviced before you put it into storage. Changing your oil, changing the anti-freeze, flushing the radiator, taking out the mats, and filling your gas tank are all very common and practiced tips for anyone looking to store their car for the winter.

Check back in a few days for the next three tips.
