SOPA and PIPA

If you are one of those people who rely on Wikipedia for all your information especially because it is the first search result for most things on google.com, you probably noticed that a few days ago, you were totally paralyzed because of the blackout that was done to show discontent with SOPA and PIPA. Not only Wikipedia, but many other websites were involved in this act of showing disapproval, websites like craigslist, and even google.com put up a black box on their name to show how the world would be with SOPA and PIPA.

Well, the good story is all of it seems to be working! Many people protested against this new act and it has been put away. Internet won this war against SOPA and PIPA. It wasn’t much of a shocker. It was pretty obvious from how people were reacting towards it. I have never seen something go around this fast.

Personally, I usually wouldn’t have cared enough for something like this, but last week after seeing Wikipedia go black, and after seeing how craigslist.org also did a little black out for a few seconds every time you tried to go on the website, I realized how boring internet would be if SOPA and PIPA were approved. So after my little epiphany, I went ahead and signed the petition and I’m assuming there were many other people out there who did it since the government heard what we had to say and rejected SOPA and PIPA. So guys, keep enjoying your internet, and let’s hope we don’t have to hear about SOPA and PIPA again!

Why Self Storage Facility Truck Rentals Can Save You Money Compared to National Rental Companies

If you have ever needed to move then you know how frustrating packing up all your belongings then loading them onto a truck can be. Sure you may have help, but the time it takes just to get everything ready can sometimes be overwhelming. The strain and stress mentally and physically that moving puts on a person is certainly a load to bear. With all this stress that can come from simply the rigors of moving you certainly don’t want more stress and drama when trying to get your stuff moved logistically. And with some of the major players in moving and self storage you may have that added stress, not to mention added cost.

When planning out your move most people will inquire with the major national rental companies. While these companies may likely be available, they may not be able to help. Consider the price of the vehicle they are offering and compare it so you know if it actually is a good deal. Most people only move a few times in their lifetime and know absolutely nothing about the cost of truck rental. Although they think they are getting a great deal, they may be surprised at the cost difference when compared to others. One of the reasons why these national rental companies is much more in terms of price is their cost to operate. Since they typically have many personnel that does everything from manage districts to public relations. All these costs must be gained by passing the prices onto their customer. And if you’re considering renting from these national rental companies that means you will be footing a part of that bill.

While some may argue that a national rental company has many resources for their customers that a smaller firm can’t match, it isn’t necessarily true. A smaller company can offer much the same resources as a national rental company. The added bonus is customer care. Caring for your customer and going the extra mile so they know without a shadow of a doubt that we appreciate their business makes a huge difference. So before you jump in and rent a moving truck from a national company, consider going with a local self storage company. You may just find that you will get lower prices as well as great customer care.

Ditch New Year’s Resolution Day!

If you are reading this blog, you are probably wondering when and where in the world, this day came from and what is this day all about? I myself just recently heard about it while going through all the weird days of the year and was very excited to see that there was such a thing! I know many people who come up with all these new year’s resolutions towards the end of every year, thinking they have a brand new year ahead of them and start planning things they would like to do starting from the new year (just like they did last year, and the year before the last).

They all make lists, discuss their resolutions with other people and make up their mind, determined to get all of it done starting with January 1st. Now the funny thing is that there is a day called Ditch New Year’s Resolution Day! Which is only January 17th of that New Year! Just a little more than two weeks into the New Year and we have people creating such a day to already ditch their resolutions.

So from what I understand, many people have ditched their resolutions and have gone back to the good old them. If you haven’t so yet, then congratulations, you are doing great so far! And A Space Place Storage would like to wish those of you Good Luck and would love to hear if you have already ditched your New Year’s resolution yet or not!
